It's a new dawn, it's a new day, it's a new life--

Wrong theme song, even though the theme certainly applies. It's a new day in Lorne's life. He quite enjoys dawn, thank you very much. He's found a new place to live - another penthouse in the middle of Youdon'tneedtoknow-ville. And recently, he's been indulging more and more in taking breathers at Milliways.

In short: good times all around.

"Is my heart in the right place?" he shoots back with a burgeoning grin.

"You tell me," he grins back.

Sometimes, one of the most difficult things in the entire world is stifling a giggle before it completely ruins your laid back, composed image.

Lorne doesn't quite manage to maintain said image. "I'd better not or I'll just do like Freud and a strategically placed banana peel. A two-scoop waffle cone it is, ya big imp."

Serenely: "I knew you'd see it my way."

There's only one customer left ahead of them, and he's already handing over the money.

"There's plenty of room in here for a jig, Mister. Don't push it."

As the other customer takes his bounty and exits stage right, Lorne nudges Andrew. "So...what are you having?"


In so many words, Lead the way, Master Jedi.

"Well, I'll be honest, I was considering the mocha-mint ice-cream-coffee drink before we got in here, but I think I'm gonna go with a waffle cone too."

He beams. "You ready to order?"

"Yup." And in an undertone, moving towards the counter: "That sounds absolutely dreamy, by the by. Don't let me cramp your inimitable style."

[stilljustandrew]

"There's no cramp," Andrew assures him, and then steps up to the counter.

"Hi, ah -- can we get two of the two-scoop waffle cones? One of them with Cherries Jubilee and Brownie Sundae, and the other with Peanut Butter Chocolate and Jamoca Almond Fudge."

"And one of your charming little spoons, please."

Because enjoying ice cream is one thing. Getting ice cream all over your very nice clothes is another thing entirely. ...Lorne doesn't care what adorably creepy kids tell you, Neo. Sometimes there really is a (need for a) spoon.

The darling behind the counter gets their order sorted in no time, leaving them with nothing left to do but pay up and get back out there in the sunshine.

Sunshine? Rocks. Ice cream? Rolls. The two of them, together in sweet, sweet harmony? Some kind of abso-tively, posi-lutely wonderful.

Andrew is in full agreement with this sentiment.

"You are giddy," he accuses happily.

Digging his bright red spoon into his ice cream, Lorne doesn't even try to hide this fact. "Is it that obvious?"

He nods around a mouthful of ice cream. "Mm-hmh."

"Must be the weather," he adds, after swallowing.

"Either that or the goodies."

Couldn't be the company, goodness no. "So tell me, chiquito. Not to be a drama queen, but where do we go from here?"

[stilljustandrew]

"It's your outing," Andrew points out, and takes another lick of his cone. "We could just, you know, wander around?"

Ducking his head to close his lips around a substantial spoonful of ice cream, he nods. Tapping his lips with said spoon while thinking it over, there's really only one place he can think of going right now.

"Central Park isn't too far away, right?"

[stilljustandrew]

"Nope."

He starts to grin again.

"Wanna?"

"To be very, very blunt:



"Duh."

[stilljustandrew]

"Shall we?" Andrew says in his Quoting Something voice, and answers himself happily: "Let's shall!"

Gesturing with his ice cream, he adds "If we take Eighty-First across, we'll pass by the planetarium on the way."

His initial response, being ooooh the Planetarium, disappears swiftly as something even more intriguing flickers by on the inside of his eyelids.

"Where's that from?" He chuckles. "Bugs Bunny?"

"Chip and Dale," he corrects. "The early cartoons, before they were in the Rescue Rangers."

He snaps his fingers, borderline victorious. "I knew I knew that from somewhere. I love those little critters! There's this short little film of them stowing away on Mickey's freshly chopped Christmas tree that I just adore. Gets you right in the--"

After a moment's thought, he makes a fist and thumps his chest twice. He actually had to think about which side. Ahem.

In an undertone, "Freudian slips are even more embarrassing when you're having a masked ball moment or a dozen."

Andrew snerks.

"Kinda gets you right here," he says (Quoting Something again, this time with a half-plausible gruff Southern accent), touching his chest. "Or, in your case, right here," he adds, touching his side.

"Vulcans," he explains.

Careful now, with all this giggling, Lorne won't get to actually eat his ice cream before it melts. He sighs, wistful. "Aw, Bones. You and your subtextually suppressed homo erotic inclinations."

Or in so many words: If you've so much as thought of it, there's internet porn about that very figment of your imagination. Somewhere. And chances are, you don't ever want to know about it.

"Oh, please." Another dig in the wasteland that his 2-Scoop is turning into renders him a wealthy man indeed - ah, if cherries and rum were currency.

"You don't argue like that if you don't have history together. They're the quintessential old married couple, fer cryin' out loud! ...if they'd only get a room, that is."
